1988

MCS was founded in 1988 with a mission to transform underground mining operations through digital technology and data-driven management. The company pioneered the Productivity Optimisation Process (POP), a methodology designed to provide the industry’s first comprehensive KPI reporting platform.


MCS was also the first company to install sensors on continuous miners, allowing production events to be tracked electronically rather than manually. This breakthrough enabled operators and managers to monitor performance in real time, setting a new benchmark for accountability and operational transparency across the mining sector.

2008

In 2008, MCS created the ProdMate software platform, bringing production reporting into the digital age. Crews could now complete manual production reporting electronically in cribrooms, replacing paper-based systems with a more reliable, accessible process.


This breakthrough made it possible to map “the what to the where”, linking results to mining locations and conditions. It also introduced more dynamic target setting, giving teams visibility into both performance and the reasons behind plan vs. actual variances. This shift laid the foundation for a more transparent and accountable production culture.

2022

In 2022, Talisman Partners acquired MCS, providing new backing to accelerate the development of ProdMate. This marked the next major evolution of the platform, as ProdMate advanced from a reporting and analysis tool into a fully integrated management system.


A key milestone in this transition was the introduction of the Meeting Manager module, which embedded production planning, accountability, and review processes directly into the software. This ensured that performance data was not only captured and analysed but also used to drive structured decision-making and continuous improvement at every level of the organisation.

2023

In 2023, ProdMate was migrated from a desktop platform to the cloud, opening up new opportunities for development and deployment. This shift enabled single-location development and delivery, ensuring faster updates and greater flexibility for users.


The modernisation also included a refreshed user interface and improved usability, making the platform more intuitive and accessible.


Most importantly, the link between data, planning, and meetings became an automated process, with information compiled and made available in real time. This transformation turned ProdMate into a truly modern platform, supporting more agile decision-making across operations.

2025

In 2025, ProdMate was rebranded and relaunched as MineFox, reflecting both a new identity and a leap forward in capability. The relaunch focused on efficiency gains and a modernised brand to align with the future of mining technology.


MineFox leverages the latest digital tools to provide live visibility of operational data and information, giving teams instant insights and greater control. This step cemented the platform’s role as not just a management system, but a driver of real-time performance optimisation across mining operations.
